Finding Our Voice: Celebrating Public Speaking Success!
Flinders Public School is proud to celebrate our outstanding achievements in the recent Community of Schools Public Speaking Competition, with our talented students winning the Early Stage 1, Stage 1 and Stage 2 finals! Public speaking at Flinders Public School is a key opportunity that encourages students to develop confidence, critical thinking and effective communication skills. It challenges them to overcome nerves, think deeply and present their ideas with clarity and conviction in front of an audience. This event not only celebrates student voice but also provides a platform for our gifted and talented learners to shine, showcasing their intellect, creativity and passion. Through public speaking, we continue to nurture high potential in all students, empowering learners to grow as confident communicators who use their voices to inspire and make a difference.
A Symphony of Talent: The Flinders Choir Shines
Flinders Public School is thrilled to celebrate the incredible success of our school choir, which shone brightly at the Southern Illawarra Music Festival. Their outstanding performances captivated audiences and highlighted the remarkable talent and dedication of our students. Participation in the festival provided our choir members with the opportunity to refine their musical skills, collaborate as a team and express their creativity through the joy of song. At Flinders, we value and nurture creative talent providing enriching opportunities for students to explore their passions and perform with confidence. Our choir’s achievements are a true reflection of hard work, artistic growth and the vibrant culture of creativity that thrives within our school.
Shaping Tomorrow, Leading Today
At Flinders Public School, we are committed to nurturing the social and emotional growth of our gifted and talented students through authentic leadership experiences. Each year, our student leaders have the opportunity to attend the National Young Leaders Day in Sydney, an inspiring event where they meet and learn from influential speakers, role models and young change makers from across the country. This experience encourages our leaders to think beyond themselves, build confidence and develop empathy, teamwork, and a strong sense of purpose. By engaging in events like these, our students not only strengthen their leadership skills but also grow as compassionate, motivated individuals ready to make a positive difference in their school and wider community.
