The Positive Behaviour School Program is underpinned by our 3 school rules of Care for Yourself, Care for Others and Care for this Place. Throughout this year there has been a significant number of signs using our school mascot of ‘Flindy' positioned throughout the school. These signs rely on colour, visuals and key wording. These 3 rules are well understood by our students and staff and have established how we do our business.
(1) Be Prepared To Learn
(2) Respect Others
(3) Stay On Task
(4) Look After School Equipment and
(5) Be A Respectful Learner
These expectations will be shared throughout every classroom and learning space across the school. These are ‘the basics' of what is needed for our school and our students to achieve their personal best. These expectations are all about developing ‘common' or ‘shared' understandings by every student and staff member. These expectations have been developed through consultation with our classroom teachers and staff, with our facilitating consultants, to identify key issues that distract our students from the main game of engaging in learning. It is the PBS team and staff's belief that through shared understandings, common language, explicit teaching, our students will experience greater engagement, purpose and enjoyment in their learning. Well done to our PBS team and all staff for the sensitive manner in which they are introducing these expectations.
