Back in May this year, seventeen Flinders Public School students from Year 6 participated in the South Coast Orienteering Gala Day for the very first time. Andrew K (6N) experienced ‘adventure racing' success and placed 2nd overall in the Year 6 Boys Division. As a result, he was personally invited and accepted an invitation to attend the 2017 NSW (State) Schools Orienteering Championships in Wollongong last weekend.
Andrew utilised his awesome athletic ability, great geographical knowledge, magic mathematical and perfect problem-solving skills to navigate his way around the maze-like grounds and buildings of Wollongong University, armed with only a map. His mission: to reach each of the checkpoints in order, as quickly as possible!
Congratulations on placing 3rd in your age division Andrew! Well done for taking up this fantastic opportunity and enjoying a great day out with your family.
