Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Homework Centre
On Tuesday May 8, our first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Homework Centre took place. We had 12 children participate in this after school initiative. During the session, the students shared afternoon tea, worked in small groups to suggest possible names for the group and worked on their homework, including home reading, with the volunteering teachers who were present. We also discussed some future projects.
The Homework Centre is available to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Flinders Public School K-6. Notes were distributed to students last week. If you would like your child to participate on Tuesday afternoons from 2.55pm - 3.55pm, please return the permission note to Mrs Perry. Additional notes are available from the office.
